I often despair about the way that the over- venerated BBC cover some stories… but this one has seen my blood pressure rise because I’m incandescent with rage over their reporting on the bombing of Dresden.
My father said that there were many who felt uncomfortable about having to bomb this and other cities… but they had their orders and had to follow them.
The BBC, in typical fashion, didn’t seem to think that the bombing of other UK cities was wrong, though, as they weren’t mentioned in order to balance their reporting. Thank goodness that my father and many others in the RAF are not alive to have heard this misinformed and biased gibberish!
The image links to an article carried in the Daily Mail newspaper… this has stirred a hornet’s nest… thankfully!!
“Last night politicians, historians and military figures said the coverage was a ‘disgrace’ and disrespectful to the airmen who served and died in Bomber Command.”
